Superintendent – Remodel Construction - Big-Box retail projects

Commercial General Contractor – Southeast U.S.

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent, preferably with remodel commercial retail construction.

We are a reputable, well-established commercial general contractor based in the Southeast, specializing in ground-up construction projects for leading national brands like Publix and Walmart. With a long-standing reputation for quality, safety, and performance, we are expanding our team and looking for a skilled Superintendent to join us for upcoming projects throughout the Southeast region.

Position Overview:

The Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day onsite management of ground-up construction projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to our high-quality standards. This role will primarily focus on projects for Publix, Walmart, and similar big-box retail clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking to closeout.
• Maintain project schedule, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and building codes.
• Manage site logistics, including deliveries, inspections, safety compliance, and quality control.
• Act as the primary point of contact between the field and project management teams.
• Conduct regular site meetings with subcontractors, owners, and consultants.
• Monitor and enforce site safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, field logs, and photo documentation.
• Proactively identify issues and collaborate with project managers to resolve challenges.
• Ensure the project site remains organized, clean, and professional at all times.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent, preferably with ground-up commercial retail construction.
• Experience building Publix, Walmart, or similar big-box retail stores is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and safety management.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage subcontractors and field teams.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, PlanGrid, or similar) is a plus.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast region as project needs require.
